ALBERTA IN NOVEMBER

Stayed in Calgary for a long overdue visit with my son Kris and my future daughter in law, Hailey.  Had such a great visit.

Before flying during the cold and flu season, we take echinacea and wipe down our fold out tables with Lysol to try and prevent germs.  Normally this has worked but not this time.  The first week in Alberta was spent with a bad cold and sore throat.

Spent a spectacular weekend in the beautiful Rockies of Alberta.  Stayed in Canmore, Alberta for one night at the Rundle Mountain Lodge.  Great place to stay and dog friendly.  Had Oakley with us (Kris and Hailey’s puppy), 7 months old with  lots of energy.

Hiked a beautiful trail in the mountains.

Cold pints later at the Rose and Crown, with Steve (Clint’s son) and Corey (Clint’s nephew).   Lots of laughs and a few games of pool.

The next day started off with a great breakfast and a spectacular hike along the beautiful “Lake of Spirits.”  Beautiful, bright, sunny day while hiking the trails along this gorgeous lake.  Hit a Chinook while in Alberta.  The weather was double digits most of our stay, with only one day of snow.

Great weekend spent in the mountains, driving to Lake Louise and lunch in Banff.

Celebrated the Stampeders victory in Calgary at the City Hall.   Another beautiful, sunny day in the double digits.

Very friendly Manager at the brewery, gave us a tour and a six pack of pints to take home.

Ended our trip with a great Alberta steak dinner, at Cattle Baron Grill Room and Bar,  on our way to the airport to fly to Vancouver and then on to Australia.
